Leno teases Keith Urban
And no, not about rehab.
Jay Leno was doing a bit on Amazon.com best and worst sellers, making up the worst ones for giggles.
For instance, he pointed out Dean Koontz’s Brother Odd was a best seller, then saying the accompanying worst seller was Odd Brother by Michael Jackson.
Get it?
Anyway, then Jay pointed out that Keith Urban’s new album, love, pain & the whole crazy thing, is a top seller.
Not doing as well, he said, Keith’s follow-up album, No One Wants to Hear About Your Pain When You’re Sleeping with Nicole Kidman.
Dolly, Wy and Reznick Among Those Seen in the City!
An Eric Clapton Look-alike and Jon Bon Jovi were seen hanging out in the back room at Tootsie’s Sunday night. The guy looked so much likeClapton band memebers at Tootsie’s were sure it was the legend himself. 
Wynonna (pictured) was seen at lunchtime saying hello to a few people on her way out the door of J. Alexander’s on West End Wednesday. Employees say she stops by often.
Shinedown lead singer, Brent Smith (pictured) was also seen dining at Ruth’s Chris last night. The hard rock front man even signed a plate for a fan!
Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora were seen Monday night at Second Avenue club FUEL. Sambora even jumped on stage and jammed with several local rockers. (Brad on 2)
John Rich was seen dining at Ruth’s Chris Steak House this week.
Brooke LaBarbera of MTV’s Real World Denver was seen celebrating her girlfriend’s birthday at The Trace, Layl’a Rul and Bar 23 Wednesday night.
I am excited to say that I have received several emails on celebrity sightings. Some of them are a little old, but we still love them…below are a few!
Country icon Dolly Parton (pictured) was seen dining at Ruth’s Chris Steak House almost two weeks ago. She was sweet as could be and accompanied by another lady.
From Toni- “We were at the Wild Horse Saloon on Friday 12/29 and saw Kellie Pickler at the bar. She was sitting with a young guy and agreed to pictures with all of us! After the Saloon we headed to Loser’s where we had a run in with Keith Bulluck…I’ll be honest, none of us girls knew who he was, but the guys did! After leaving Loser’s we headed to the Tin Roof. Packed as it was, my friend Natashia was able to pick out Chris Young. He could not have been any friendlier! He posed for pictures and signed some autographs for us!”
Tammie- “I spotted John Reznick lead singer of the Goo Goo Dolls at the Nashville Airport Tuesday afternoon. He was very nice and smiled and waved when he was noticed. I did snap a picture of him as he was walking away.”

Possum liked wife’s confrontation
George Jones tells me he liked when his wife, Nancy Jones, confronted popular WSIX morning man Gerry House on the air last month.
You might remember George testified last month in front of the FCC, saying radio companies were too big and too powerful — and kept too many country legends off the air.
On the show the next day, Gerry took issue with those feelings, and Nancy jumped on the air to defend her husband’s position — and to grill Gerry on why he wasn’t playing songs from a new duets album with George and Merle Haggard.
“I enjoyed her doing that because somebody needs to stand up,” George told me. “Not that you can buck City Hall, but it’s good to hear.
“You know,” the Possum added, “the truth don’t hurt nobody except the one that don’t like it.”
George spent a couple of hours tonight talking live on the air to WSM-AM personality/country music historian Eddie Stubbs.
He reflected on his career — and George told me he doesn’t want that career to end any time soon.
“If you love something like I do, I enjoy it. I would work the rest of my days if the people wanted to hear it,” he said.
“I’d work for nothing.”

Sambora jams with the locals
You know Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora have been in and out of Nashville making a new Bon Jovi record.
But did you know Richie strapped on a guitar, jumped on stage and jammed with some local rockers Monday night at Second Avenue club Fuel, which is the old Bar Nashville?
Richie also sang/played with Billy’s daughter, Rose Falcon, a former Radio Disney star who had a big hit with the song Up, Up, Up.
Richie also played with Nashville country-rock duo the Mulch Brothers, Nick DeKoff and Mark Helbock, and you can check them out at www.mulchbrothers.com.
Jon stayed off the stage for the night, despite a rather rowdy invitation from Richie to jump up there.
The evening was part of a new weekly show that Billy and Nashville music stalwart Billy Block put together called “Monday Night Sewing Circle.”
Could there be another New Jersey knit one pearl two in next week’s show???

The gang is singing a song, Knee Deep In It, that Billy and Rose wrote with the Mulch Brothers. And yes, you’ll hear a flame-throwing Sambora guitar solo.
Real World Nashville!
Tonight I’m hitting the town for a story on local chick Brooke LaBarbera. We see her partying on MTV’s Real World: Denver, so it’s only fair you see her out and about in Nashville. Any questions you want me to ask her?

Nicole hangs with Brangelina
You know Keith Urban is moving forward with his career by planning an overseas tour for later this year.
His wife, Nicole Kidman, also continues to do her thang.
She was in Hollywood Monday night for the premiere of a documentary about three African men called God Grew Tired of Us.
Nicole is the narrator of the movie, which opens Friday.
Keith wasn’t at the premiere, but Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were. Those two are frequent visitors to and advocates for Africa.
Hollywood hits Twang-town
Did you know James Marsden, the Cyclops dude in the X-Men movies, married a Nashville girl, Lisa Linde?
The happy couple was back in her hometown this past weekend.
The two hit trendy spots Layl’a Rul and Virago before honky-tonking on Lower Broadway, according to my News 2 entertainment partner Stephanie Langston. (Check out all her info on this story on her blog, www.stephinthecity.com. You’ll be glad ya did.)
In tow was James’ Ally McBeal buddy, Josh Hopkins, who you might also know as Calista Flockhart’s character’s ex-boyfriend on ABC’s Brothers & Sisters.
Speaking of Hollywood types here, Stephanie also tells me she figured out why Cameron Diaz was here for two nights last week.
Seems she went to Al Gore’s evironment extravaganza that he held in a downtown hotel.
Josh Hopkins, Bon Jovi and Carrie Underwood Seen in the City!
Jon Bon Jovi continues making the rounds in Music City! He was seen Thursday night dining in the back corner of the bar at Virago and Saturday night at Tin Roof on Demonbreun Street. Bon Jovi jumped on stage with the house band Henry and the Seahawks and sang Dead or Alive. Rock on!
Looks like country Cutie Carrie Underwood hit-up Bar 23 in the Gulch Saturday night, after watching the Cowboys-Seahawks game at Bailey’s sports bar downtown.
Seems as though actress Cameron Diaz wants to help spread the word on global warming. She was one of hundreds that gathered at the Hilton Nashville downtown for Al Gore’s The Climate Project. As I previously reported Diaz was also seen checking out a painting at TAG Art Gallery and Gore was seen hitting up both The stage and Tootsie’s!
James Marsden and his wife Lisa Linde were seen trekking to several spots Saturday night with a crew! You know Marsden, he’s the cutie in The Notebook, Superman Returns, and X3. You’ve probably seen Linde on Days of our Lives.
Their gang, which also included Josh Hopkins from Brothers and Sisters and Ally McBeal hit up Virago and Layl’a Rul then it was off to the honky-tonks where they were spotted at The Bluegrass Inn and Roberts Western World! The couple lives in L.A., but James and Lisa spend a lot of time here and they’re looking to buy a home in ol’ NashVegas.
Amy Grant was seen getting her work-out regime kicked off for the New Year at a fitness center off 21st Ave. Monday morning. Apparently it was Grant’s first day with her trainer.
Joe Nichols was seen at The Stage on Broadway Friday. A News 2 viewer said he sang 3 songs with Todd Sansom and his band. Here’s the picture she snapped of the country singer! 
Sawyer Brown front man Mark Miller and American Idol’s Bucky Covington were spotted having lunch at Sambuca Monday. Bucky who is now on Lyric Street Records has been working with Miller for quite some time.
Steve McNair was seen hanging in his regular spot in the VIP at Layl’a Rul Thursday night.
Major league pitching veteran Dewon Brazelton was seen flashing his bling at Layl’a Rul Saturday night. He’s the former #1 pick of the Devil Rays now with the Kansas City Royals.
Nashville resident Ben Folds was seen eating lunch at Noshville on Broadway Saturday. He was wearing his signature glasses and regular clothing attire.
Nashville Star judge Anastasia Brown and John Rich were both seen at Blue Bar Friday night, but not together.
Peter Cetera of Chicago was seen doing some shopping in the Village.
Speaking of the Village, bassist Bob Babbitt one of the original members of the Funk Brothers seems to be a regular at the small sushi joint there. He has played for folks like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and The Temptations.

US Weekly: Carrie is slim-sational!
New Nashvillian Carrie Underwood graces the cover of US Weekly, the poster girl for the story “How Idols Got Thin! Their Diet Secrets That Really Work.”
This of course begs the question — What diet secrets really work, Carrie?
“I find that the more health food I have, the more health food I eat,” she reveals.
Well said! So that means my freezer full of ice cream and frozen pies is a bad idea?
I digress.
Carrie also says she gets on exercise machines and works out to DVDs in her hotel room.
“If I can get myself to get up, I’ll go on the cross-training machine or do an outdoor activity like swimming,” she tells the mag.
“Any activity is better than nothing!”
In all Carrie has dropped 20 pounds, going from a size 6 to a size 2.
Miss Tennessee USA helps Oprah
Our Miss Tennessee USA, Clarksville’s Rachel Smith, is carrying her crown halfway around the world.
She’ll be spending a month teaching at Oprah Winfrey’s brand-new school for girls in South Africa.
Worlds collide!
We know Oprah spent many childhood years in Nashville, but that was a little while ago. How did she meet Miss Tennessee USA?
Seems Rachel scored herself an internship last year with Oprah’s Harpo Productions company in Chicago.
Looks like Oprah had one more assignment for Rachel.
We hope to hear from Rachel soon.
