Barbara to read for the kids… and the dogs

barbaramandrell2.jpgBarbara Mandrell is a big fan of the canines.

So it’s no surprise that she said yes when her fellow animal lover and country artist, Emmylou Harris, asked Barbara to do an event to raise awareness of the Metro Animal Care and Control.

Barbara will read children’s books at the center, 5125 Harding Place, near the airport, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

And if that’s not enough, there will be face painting and balloons and refreshments — and you don’t even have to clean up after any of the dogs.

But while you’re there, Barbara wants to you check out the dogs and see if you might not want to adopt one.

I agree totally with Barbara, animals give love no matter what. All they want is love back. We love those Mandrell sisters. They are not only great entertainers they are great people. Thanks to Ms Barbara for her help with the animals.
