Craig Morgan uses courthouse fountains for a video

Craig Morgan says he was surprised that no other country artist has taken advantage of those fountains on Union Avenue in front of the Metro Courthouse downtown for music videos.

But Craig has, as of Tuesday night. He and crews got together to make part of the video for his song Love Remembers.

Seen in the City: Nicole Kidman gets pampered

Looks like Nicole Kidman is spending some quality pregnancy time in Nashville.

Many of you thought she’d stay in Australia while her Keith Urban-inspired offspring prepares to make his/her entry into the world.

Nay! Brad spies spotted Nicole at Escape Day Spa on Highway 100 in Belle Meade (sniff sniff!) this very afternoon!

Nicole was in a short ivory robe, and some other clients speculated she was there for a facial.

But that’s not all for Keith/Nicole sightings. A few weeks ago, the happy couple was in a Brentwood restaurant. One male diner stared so much that eventually Nicole smiled and waved at him.

Keith and Nicole also were spotted at the Jon Stewart show earlier this month at the Ryman.

So……… ya think the baby will be born here in Nashville?

Reese and Jake, sittin' in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G

Have you been DYING to know if ex-Nashvillian Reese Witherspoon is still together with Jake Gyllenhaal?

We give you a photographic answer, from Yahoo! Entertainment, from RevolutionPics/INFDaily.com.

They were seen outside a coffeehouse in Santa Monica, Calif.

Several celeb outlets, including People magazine, say they two have been together for several months, and things might be getting more serious.

Furthermore, Jake doesn’t care that he’s five years younger or that Reese has two kids.

So there.

Seen in the City: Billy Ray wolfs down at Wolfgang Puck

A mere hour or so ago, Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife Tish were enjoying some lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express in Cool Springs. Thanks for the heads up from @levicole.

And Billy Ray — a.k.a. Miley Cyrus’ dad — could not have been nicer to the staff or to the fans who approached him.

As you can see, Billy Ray posed for pics and signed an autograph for the nine-year-old daughter of church office manager Christa Lanford.

Billy Ray urged the girl to: “Follow your dreams.”

Oops: Melissa Manchester hits Bluebird without keyboard

Yep, that Melissa Manchester, the ’70s/’80s pop queen with the humungous hit, Don’t Cry Out Loud.

Melissa had a show Saturday night at the Bluebird Cafe, and her fans showed up ready for action. Several brought big posters of her in her full ’80s Flash Dance-ish regalia.

One small problem: Melissa forgot a keyboard.

“I thought I’d use the house keyboard,” she offered. But the Bluebird doesn’t actually have any house instruments.

So one of the other singers/songwriters went to his place to get one, and all was right with the world.

The crowd went bonkers for her, and she gave them a treat.

Melissa actually sang Don’t Cry Out Loud as her last song, which she has rarely done in the past couple of decades.

Seen in the City: Miley and her mom fall into the Gap

Looks like Miley Cyrus has found a fave spot for retail therapy while shooting the Hannah Montana movie in Middle Tennessee — and that spot is the Mall at Green Hills. (Sniff sniff!)

Here is a pic of Miley in a dressing room there. Kidding! This is actually one of several new ab-showing pics that have surfaced on the Web, pics that Miley supposedly made for alleged boyfriend, Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. I got these from the Memphis ABC affiliate Web site.

Back here in Nashville, Miley’s Memorial Day shopping trip landed her at the Gap at the Mall at Green Hills from 4 to 4:30 p.m. You might remember it was raining, so Miley and her mom, Tish, were probably looking for something to do inside like the rest of us.

Staff at the Gap said female customers whispered “Is that Hannah Montana?” to each other while their boyfriends and husbands looked confused. A few customers eventually walked up to Miley to ask for autographs, and she obliged.

Miley bought several V-neck shirts in different colors and her mom — who said she was freezing — bought an entire outfit and wore it out of the store.

“They were very nice and personable and not rude at all,” one store staffer said.

The total bill was under $100.

Miley has been to that mall several times, and, on a previous trip, she was nice to fans who approached her at Panera.

Good to know she’s nice to the home folk.

Drunk dude surprises comic Josh Blue his last time here

Youse guys remember Josh Blue, the comedian with cerebral palsy who won TV’s Last Comic Standing a year or so ago?

He’s in town for shows at Zanies all weekend, and he told me a funny story today about a drunk guy who came up to Josh the last time he was in Nashville.

“This guy comes up to me and he goes, ‘Isn’t you that actress from that show, Family Matters?’” Josh told me.

Check out that sentence again: “Isn’t you that actress from that show, Family Matters?”

Josh’s reaction?

“First of all, everything you said is wrong. ‘Isn’t you?’ No,” he said.

“‘That actress?’ I’m a man. And Family Matters? I believe that was an all-black cast. So I think he thought I was Urkel.”

'People' pic: Is this Shania's hubby's other woman?

I know what you’re thinking.

Would any guy dump that for that?? But here is a pic of the Swiss Miss that sources say hooked up with Mutt.

Do keep in mind that famed rock producer Mutt Lange has repeatedly denied he had a sexual relationship with this lady, one Marie-Anne ThiĆ©baud, 37, the couple’s chateau manager, among other things.

But People magazine has sources saying it’s true, saying Shania is really hurting from the double betrayal.

“Shania considered Marie-Anne one of her best friends,” a secret source told People.

Meanwhile, US Weekly found Ms. Marie-Anne, who denies she’s the reason for the break up.

“I know what you’re ringing to ask me about. But, when marriages break up they break up for all sorts of complicated reasons, it’s never just one reason. And those reasons should be kept private.

“If you’re looking for a person that broke up a marriage then you have the wrong person. I’m not that person,” she added.

Former 'Law & Order' star is coming to the Ryman

That’s right, Fred Thompson is going to make an appearance June 2 at the Ryman Auditorium!

OK, the reason for the event is actually a townhall meeting for Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee for president.

But this is an entertainment blog, so I had to start with Fred Thompson. Oh, by the way, former Sen. Bill Frist will be there too, but he has never had a recurring part in a major TV drama series.

The big show starts at 2 p.m. June 2. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. And yes, you’re invited — as is everyone else.

But the Ryman seats only 2,000 so get there early.

Steven Curtis Chapman's daughter dies in accident

The five-year-old daughter of Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman has died after an SUV struck her on the family’s property around 5 p.m. Wednesday, the Tennessee Highway Patrol tells News 2.

Maria Chapman — one of three daughters that Chapman and his wife adopted from China — was pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after she was taken there by LifeFlight.

A THP spokeswoman says one of Chapman’s two teen-aged sons was driving a Toyota Land Cruiser around the family’s Franklin home, and the driver didn’t see the little girl.

Police said this appears to be an accident.

Authorities have sent an accident reconstruction team to the site, and the district attorney has been notified, but no charges are pending at this point. And no charges are expected.

UPDATE

Steven Curtis Chapman’s manager, Jim Houser, issued a statement on the family’s Web site today.

“Just hours before this close knit family was celebrating the engagement of the oldest daughter Emily Chapman, and were just hours away from a graduation party marking Caleb Chapman’s completion of high school,” he wrote.

“Now, they are preparing to bury a child who blew out 5 candles on a birthday cake less than 10 days ago. These words are unthinkable to type. And yet we trust in a God who was not surprised by this and because of Jesus I am certain through faith in Him we will see Maria again.”

The family is asking donations be made to the Chapman’s adoption initiative, Shoahanna’s Hope.

SERVICES

Christ Presbyterian Church, 2323 Old Hickory Blvd., will host visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and a public memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday.
