Taylor to give all Saturday merch profits to Red Cross

by Brad on Jun.02, 2008, under Country music

So if you’re doing the CMA Music Festival thang, and you love the Taylor Swift, and you love helping people….

Hold off ’til Saturday before you buy your Taylor Swift T-shirt.

Taylor has announced that she’s going to sign autographs in the convention center all day Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., as long as the convention center is open that day.

And we just learned that Taylor is going to donate all the profits from merch sales that day to the American Red Cross.

Part of the money goes to the Nashviell Area Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund in Middle Tennessee (our neighbors) and part will go the the National American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund (our neighbors farther away).

Taylor definitely “gets it”. Too many other country artists could and should take a lesson from this young lady on what Fan Fair is supposed to be all about. She’s a refreshing return to what made Fan Fair great in the beginning… GIVING BACK TO THE FANS!

I love the way some performers AVOID Fan Fair for years and years and then it’s supposed to be some big blessing to the fans when they come back. Ummmm… not so much.

Keeping doing it your way, Taylor and you will be around for a long, long time.
