That's right, even George Jones gets star-struck
Hard to believe, isn’t it?
But when actor-turned-author Gene Hackman was in town earlier this week to sign his new Civil War book, the legendary George Jones couldn’t stay away.
George and Nancy went down to the Nashville downtown library just like the other fans.
And apparently the meet-and-greet didn’t last too long.
George got so nervous that his usual bottle-rattling deep voice escaped him, and he started practically squeaking.
Like a possum?

I don’t think possum’s squeak. But nonetheless, you again have outdone the opposition with your wit and snappy repartee. My what hurts? My what hurts? Exactly what hurts on yooooooooooo?

See how I corrected my typo from the first possum note to the second? This interactive journalism is mind-boggling.

George and Nancy were sitting on the opposite end of the row from me. They arrived about ten mins before the authors were introduced but only sat in their seats less than 5 mins.
Nancy was very nice and introduced herself to others while George seemed very nervous and uncomfortable.
They eventually left their seats accompanied by a library employeed and lead back to another room.
I never realized The Possum was so uncomfortable out among the peeps. Go figure….
