Official Jessica Simpson-goes-country date: Sept. 9
Have I told you the official date for the release of Jessica Simpson’s first country album?
Are you on pins and noodles?
You can own your very own copy of that album, Do You Know?, starting Sept. 9.
And Jessica says that, by gum, she is a country girl!!
“Every single song is a piece of my heart … who I am,” she said, via press release.
“I’m not what everybody thinks that I am. Believe it or not, I’m a simple country girl.”
Really?
“I might buy expensive shoes,” she continues, “but, I’m definitely a simple country girl and this album will hopefully give people a sense of who Jessica is again.”
Well… I love Jessica, but most simple country girls don’t refer to themselves in the third person. Brad doesn’t get that.

Oh please spare us and name dropping of Jessica, Brad. She is the most attention seeking gnat on the face of the Earth. The only person more annoying is her dad. Did you check out her hooker outfits she wore to cheer Tony on in Lake Tahoe? Yeah, she’s really country. She pushed her way on to the pages of this months Country Weekly magazine giving all of our gag reflexes a work out. She wanted to sing at LP field during CMAfest? Give me a break. She’s lucky they let her
walk on the stage and talk. I don’t know who she thinks she is but she hasn’t fooled everyone. I have her pegged for what she is a Tabloid Celebrity and nothing more.

I agree with you Jill. And Jessica is no Country singer. She’s in L.A. or Dallas all the time and rarely comes to Nashville (regardless of what her publicist says). This is her last chance and she’s faking it.

I personally cannot wait for Jessica’s album. I have to disagree with the people who say she isn’t country. I’ve followed her career from the beginning and I couldn’t be happier that I finally get to hear her on country radio because it’s all I listen too. I got to meet Jessica at CMA Fest and she was so sweet and down to earth. He single is amazing and I’m sure the album will be too. After all, isn’t country music about telling a story? Getting emotions and feleings and experiences out through songs? Isn’t that what songwriters do? Well, Jessica wrote or co-wrote the songs on her album. Let’s give her a chance to share this with us.

The main problem is…she’s not a very good singer no matter how well written the song is.
Her current single has already fallen 50 spots in just a few weeks and even since the video release.
I don’t see major touring or any real amount of work from her as far as her music career goes.
She’s all about the tabloid attention.
