Brooks & Dunn has a bikini bonanza for their new video
by Brad on Jul.15, 2008, under Country music, Models, Television
It makes sense: The new Brooks & Dunn song is called Put a Girl in It.
For the music video shot Tuesday, they put 100 girls in it. Most in bikinis.
Video director Wes Edwards says the duo requested 1,000 models, but the budget wouldn’t allow it.
Of course, Kix Brooks & Ronnie Dunn denied they had anything to do with the ladies being in the video.
Ronnie: “We’re so over that. Can’t believe they did that. It’s embarrassing.”
Kix: “I guess we already spent the money. It was all we had. Ya can’t turn back now.”
Ronnie: “You start exploiting that stuff and it snowballs.”

I was one of the “bikini girls” for this video. If Brooks and Dunn were shocked to see us in bikinis, we were just as shocked to see them performing surrounded by people less than half their age. I was dissapointed in the creation of this video. I hoped it was going to have a little more class than that. However, being called “bikini girls” is a little degrading…I prefer “girls in bikinis”…people first language.

Many of us chose not to be in swim suits because it looked very trashy. But Brooks and Dunn were enjoying the girls in bikinis and having fun with them just as much as nay man would. So for them to say they were embarrassed and so over that kind of thing does not seem fully true. I was embarrassed by many of the girls there, but you make the choice to stay out of those shots and not stand near certain props. It was a blast, but not exactly what some girls signed up for.
