Jessica Simpson is upset that Carrie says Tony still calls
Did you see last week where Carrie Underwood told Allure magazine that her ex (and Jessica Simpson’s current) Tony Romo still calls Carrie once in a while?
This apparently didn’t sit too well with Jessica Simpson, who appeared on a San Francisco radio station late last week. (Click on the link and go to Jessica’s second interview segment to hear it yourself.)
The station’s morning show personality Corey said that Carrie shouldn’t have revealed that Tony still calls her.
“I thought it was kind of classless for her to say that,” Corey said.
Jessica replied: “I do too. I don’t understand why she would say that.”
“‘Cause I respect Carrie and I would never say anything like that,” Jessica added.
“Tony was upset about it too. He was like, ‘I don’t understand why she feels like she has to say something like that.’”

Did she even read the article. What is wrong with what Carrie said? She was asked about some of the men she has been linked to and responded that she was never in a serious relationship with Tony but they use to talk often about sudden fame. Now, not so much. I find it funny that Jessica Simpson, a girl who whines constantly about being misinterpreted in the press, would think that this was a big deal. I think Carrie Underwood has been nothing but classy since she burst on the scene, Jessica Simpson and her family, not so much.

Jessica is a jealous girl that wants Carrie to look bad. Carrie didn’t say anything bad. It’s Jessica’s comments that will backfire on her. Jessica’s single has already fallen down and Carrie continues to climb up the charts- passing Jessica in no time.

Anyone who reads the Allure article will see that Carrie’s just saying that she and Tony Romo were close friends and now they aren’t close. The Allure writer wasn’t going to let Carrie go without asking her whether she keeps in touch with Tony Romo so that was Carrie’s answer. He would call sometimes and sometimes Carrie wouldn’t pick up. This interview was done back on May 9th anyway so it’s old news.
Leave it to the publicity-hungry Jessica Simpson to try to stir this up into something else. She’ll probably try to play this up to try to save her single which has been losing spins for a few weeks.
But you know what’s really sad? There are only 2 lines in the Allure article about Tony Romo but many paragraphs about Carrie’s thoughts on women in country music. She stands up for Faith, Martina, and Wynonna in the Allure article. Why is that not a story?
Why isn’t it a story that Carrie says the record labels are trying to program for 30-something women but they’re overloading the airwaves with male eyecandy and not giving 30-something women enough singers to relate to? That’s actually relevant. Shouldn’t that be discussed more?

This article was not from LAST WEEK. Carrie was asked on MAY 9th “Does Tony ever call you?” and she answered MAY 9TH “the phone will ring and I see that its him and maybe I wont answer”. That is all that was said other than they have always been good friends. What is wrong with that? NOTHING
Jessica is trying to pull publicity out of a magazine quote. She is upset because she and Tony were in a rough patch at that time and Tony fibbed to her and said he wasnt calling Carrie. In reality, he was calling to chat her up and Carrie was not interested So Tony is hurt? He’s hurt because he got caught. Carrie doesn’t answer because she wants out of the media circus.

Lets play dumb here. Gee whiz “I dont know why she would say that?” Because Jessica is riding Carries coat tails for publicity. Somehow her name ends up with Carrie’s in articles just like the one above and just like the one National Ledger just posted today Love Triangle. Can’t these people understand she needs to distance herself and let everyone know she is trying NOT to answer the calls to be out of the way. Its so easy to figure out. Jessica

Jessica should focus more on rehearsing for her concerts. She has preformed three times and at every venue she has forgotten the words to her songs on stage. That is so unprofessional and people have paid money for that show. She has stopped the band and made them start over. She is going to be in for a rude awakening on Sept. 6th at the Opry if that happens. She may sound okay on her CD but her live vocals are not up to par. Quit worrying about what Carrie is doing and practice your songs!

I listened to the radio interview. Corey the DJ said “I just can’t imagine Carrie saying something like this” thats right Corey because you didnt read the 2 page artile. You read one line and interpreted it. I also read the article. It was a wonderful piece on all Carrie is doing for women in country music and how she is setting the bar high. How she would love to have an all girls tour. How relationships can be tough when you are a celebrity because you really don’t know what people want from you. If they are being genuine.
There was one little blurb about Tony being her friend and how they started out as small town people. Then the interviewer asked if she still spoke with Tony. Jessica really need to take a look at herself before she every calls Carrie classless. In fact now that I think of it, Jessica was going on about sleeping with Tony on an air mattress during that interview to me thats classless. We’ve already heard how they pray before they go to bed together. Jessica doesn’t have a leg to stand on. I could go on and on.

Jessica plays the little sympathy card. “I would never do anything like that” oh my, but she sure would jab carrie with her real girls eat meat shirt and Carrie never said a word or addressed it.
Jessica also said in the Glamour magazine that Tony was watching the CMA’s last year to see her and that is a stab if I’ve ever heard one. Tony never missed anything Carrie was doing. He supported her in her career. Tony was watching because Carrie was preforming and hosting. But, Jessica got her jab in. Carrie said nothing.
So Jessica needs to look at who she is calling classless.

Brad, you out did yourself on this one. Too cute. I’m glad you gave Carrie the tiger cause she is gonna open a can of whoop a*ss on Jessica. Those OK farm girls are pretty tough. Carries got some muscles in those arms and legs. Jessica has short stubby little legs and junk in her trunk but dont under estimate the barrel chested woman. I think it should go on pay per view. Carries tickets will sell for premium price and Jessicas will be buy one get one free. It can be located in Jerry Jones new Texas Stadium and that will assure lots of boo’s on Jessicas side. Its a distraction.

Jessica is just trying to start trouble for poor Carrie– who never said a bad word about anyone. This Allure magazine interview was done in March, so Carrie said this months ago– when Tony and she still communicated occasionally as friends. Carrie and Tony were just trying to stay friends after the breakup– and kept in contact occasionally– no big deal. There is nothing more to the comment than that- but Jessica started trashing carrie on radio stations and that is unfortunate. Jess should go back to pop and stop causing all this drama that country does not need. TEAM CARRIE!

If Jessica was not in desparate need of having her name in the news every day she would never have opened her mouth and no one would have even noticed this one little line in Carrie’s excellent article. Carrie only told the truth when ask a question. Which is more than can be said about some people.

in an article yesterday John Rich said she is amazing and he sees her as the next Reba doing all sorts of wonderful things for women in country music
in an article today Carrie is to be included with 11 other artists to make a single for the charity Stand Up for Cancer. The artists were listed as
“megastars and highly acclaimed artists”
Carrie has made a name for herself with talent and hard work. Way to go Carrie.

Carrie Underwood is an “IDEAL WOMAN”. She is gorgeous, highly intelligent ( graduated SALUTATORIAN in high school and graduated MAGNA CUM LAUDE in college ), has a great personality and has a very strong faith in GOD. She was singing in the church since she was a little girl!!! Jesus took the wheel of her phenomenal success because of the lead single, “Jesus, Take The Wheel”. These are the qualities, I want my future children to have and my future wife to have so that I can be proud of her as the mother of my children and I can be proud of her as my wife!!!

The interview by “Allure” magazine was given May 09, 2008 and during that time Tony and Jessica split!!! That time Tony was calling her and had been calling her trying to get back with her!!! I think Jessica is wasting her time talking about Carrie. I think she’s jealous that Carrie is a country superstar and poor little Jessica’s not. All I can say is that, this is a non-issue. Read the interview first at “Allure” magazine before you talk too much, Jessica. What a shame! I am not buying your album. NOT WORTH IT. I already bought Julianne and Jewel. I will also buy Kristy Lee Cook because I love the lead single and Carrie co-wrote one of the tracks in the album.
