Tim McGraw to honor dad, Tug, at World Series game 3

by Brad on Oct.23, 2008, under Country music, Sports, Television

Did you know that Tim McGraw’s dad is the late legendary pitcher Tug McGraw?

Tim will honor his dad’s memory Saturday by presenting the game ball for the World Series in Philadelphia, Tug McGraw’s baseball home for years.

This should be an especially cool moment for Phillies fans.

The last time the Phillies won a World Series was 1980.

And the closer for the last game of that series? Tug McGraw. And here’s the picture of that moment.

Tim will deliver the ball with a kid from the Philly chapter of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the official charity for Major League Baseball.
