New Johnny Cash documentary to be shown at film fest

by Brad on Apr.07, 2009, under Concerts, Country music, Movies, Nashville Film Festival

The documentary is Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison, and it’s about — you guessed it — Johnny Cash’s 1968 concert at California’s Folsom State Prison.

The filmmakers will be here for the screenings, at 5 p.m. April 19 and 3:30 p.m. April 20, as part of the Nashville Film Festival.

There’s plenty of footage from the actual show, but filmmakers also went back in for more current day footage.

There also are bunches of interviews with folks were who there, including several inmates.

The filmmakers will be there for the Sunday screening to answer questions afterward.
