Here are arrest affidavits taken out against John Rich

Metro Police released affidavits in connection with three charges against country singer John Rich, taken out by former Nashville Star contestant Jared Ashley. Quite colorful:

On 06/05/08 the victim Ashley was performing on stage at Legend’s Corner Bar in Nashville, Tennessee. The defendant Rich was standing in the audience. Near the end of his show the defendant Rich walked on stage. He put his arm around victim Ashley and stated in his ear he ought to ‘take him (Jared Ashley) into the alley and kick his ass.’
Defendant Rich then squeezed victim Ashley’s neck and jerked it forward several times. Defendant Rich was asked to leave the stage after the assault.

On 03/13/09 the victim Jared Ashley was visiting a private nightclub/bar named ‘The Spot’ located in Nashville, TN. The owner of said bar, defendant John Rich, got into a discussion with victim Ashley. Defendant Rich escalated the discussion into an argument.
Without being provoked defendant Rich then struck victim Ashley in the jaw with his fist.
Defendant Rich’s personal security, witness Brandon Glasgow escorted victim from said club.

T.C.A. 39-17-308 (a)(1)
On 03/13/09 at approximately 0600 hours, victim Jared Ashley received a lengthy phone call message from defendant John Rich. In the message defendant Rich claims he will ‘knock the shit out of him (Mr. Ashley).’
This message came several hours after defendant Rich physically assaulted victim Ashley.

Sorry JARED but you’re sounding a little like a whiny-ass. BooHoo, John Rich might hurt me. Such crap. I’d say this country has too many wannabe artists and perhaps a few too many lawyers. Thank God there are a few MEN left, John Rich being one of the best.

He definitely hasn’t settled down has he? His drinking and violent behavior is worse than ever. Looks like his life has been all downhill since the wedding.
Maybe his wife should try getting him sober before he ends up broke and in prison. If she cares…. His own personal June Carter, my ass. June would have straightened him out or left him long ago. This woman is watching him crash and burn. What a waste.

Hey Bill, Jarod is a guy. And sounds to me like he deserved to get the shit kicked out of him. It terribly sad what this SOB is doing to him and its rediculous that the law is even involved. Hopefully John will pull through
