Big flashy exciting — and very wet — fireworks

Some of those flashes were lightning at the Riverfront! Organizers of Nashville’s annual Fourth of July celebration moved the fireworks up nearly an hour in hopes of getting it in before storm.

Didn’t work: The skies opened up about 13 minutes into the 23-minute fireworks display, and many folks heard the finale as they fled to cars.
