Ravens McNair Retires FootballHey everyone! Intern Justine here.

With the passing of Steve McNair, people from all over have shown their respect and condolences to the former Tennessee Titan quarterback here in Nashville.

McNair’s restaurant Gridiron9 was the shrine to the QB, where fans gathered to pay their respects. The windows of the restaurant were covered in writings from fans, remembering McNair and his accomplishments.

“It’s a lot of appreciation. Everybody knew Steve. Steve was a great guy, he was one of the greatest. So it’s just hard not to really dedicate things to him. It’s unfortunate what happened,” says Walter Box, Gridiron9’s co-owner.

“We’re going to let everybody do their thing and we’ll come back in and straighten things up and go to business,” says Box.

The restaurant will open back up in about 2 weeks, but for now, it’s a place for people to honor Steve McNair and his family.
