Garth Brooks STRONGLY urges artists to get more control

by Brad on Aug.24, 2009, under Country music, Politics

I don’t wanna say Garth Brooks had a bit of a rant Sunday night during a tribute to him (see below), but….

Let’s just say Garth thinks it’s really important for singers and songwriters and musicians to keep control of what they create and perhaps get a bigger piece of the pie.

The first part of those thoughts:

“I’m gonna say this real quick. We need to get our (bleep) back. We need to sit up and we need to understand content is king and we are the creators of that content. We need to protect it.

“We need to join together. Musicians, artists, songwriters, we’ve always been people that felt if we paid attention to the business, that meant we weren’t true artists. If we realy got into the business part of it, that meant we really weren’t sincere about what we did. Bull (bleep).”
