‘Dukes of Hazzard’ star John Schneider is singing again

Hey, it’s intern Jenny!
John Schneider- possibly better known as Dukes of Hazzard’s Bo Duke- is back in Music City. But not as an actor- this time he’s pursuing a career in country music.
He’s playing 2 shows tonight in Nashville- one private show, and the other at 12th & Porter (9:00pm, $12 at the door.)
But John is not new to the country music scene- he had multiple no. 1 hits in the 1980’s, including: I’ve Been Around Enough To Know (1984), Country Girls (1985), What’s a Memory Like You (Doing in a Love Like This) (1986), and You’re the Last Thing I Needed Tonight (1986)
So after 2 decades of being absent from the music scene, what brought him back?
Last night Brad caught up with the actor/musician, and he shared the advice he got from Johnny Cash back in the day:
“Johnny told me that one day, you’re gonna get back in the music and one day you’re gonna hear a song that you will have to record. And that’s the song that will bring you back into country music… He said, I don’t know what it is and I don’t know when you’re gonna hear it, but when you hear it, you’ll know.”
And John Schneider has now heard the song. Titled, The Promise, it talks about the current state of the union. He believes ”this is the song that Johnny Cash talked to me about all those years ago.”
