Stars (and Bob Mueller!) to honor Amy Grant, Vince Gill

There may not be enough room on the Internet for me to list fund-raiser activities of Nashville’s First Couple of Charity, Amy Grant and Vince Gill. So I won’t even try.
But The Mental Health Association of Middle Tennessee is gonna try. The ol’ MHAMT is giving the couple its prestigious Jack C. Massey Leadership Award at a dinner tonight.
OK, you might not have heard of that award, but you know some of the past recipients:
Gov. Ned McWherter (1993), Sen. Howard H. Baker Jr. (1995), Mayor Bill Purcell (2007). Lots of political types, huh?
In fact, the late Buddy Killen (for whom the Music Row roundabout is named) is one of the few music industry folks who has received the award, in 1991. So, good on ya, Amy and Vince.
Michael W. Smith, Al Anderson, Pete Wassner, and Tommy Simms (Change the World) will sing for Vince and Amy and tonight’s dinner, at the Loew’s Vanderbilt Hotel.
And News 2 anchor Bob Mueller – longtime friend and golfing buddies with Vince and Amy — will offer some comments. My guess is those comments will be delivered in a deep voice, emitted from a hole directly beneath one solid 30+-year-old mustache.
