News 2 has contacted a passenger who was on the Miley Cyrus tour bus that crashed this morning in rural Virginia.
He said those on the bus — most of whom were on the lighting crew — were awakened just before the crash when the bus started swerving violently side to side. The bus eventually landed on its side in a ditch.
Miley wasn’t on the bus that turned over, in Dinwiddie, Va., around 8:15 a.m.
One person was killed, and Miley’s stage manager went to the hospital in shock, with black eyes and a bloody nose.
No one else went to the hospital.
The remaining crew buses took passengers and equipment from the wrecked bus, heading toward Greensboro for a concert there Sunday.
Miley is expected to play her show here at the Sommet Center Wednesday night.
Still no word on what may have caused the crash. State police have said the roads were wet, but that isn’t what is believed to have caused the crash.
