Worlds collide!

First of all, did you know News 2 morning man Neil Orne played guitar? He plays a Les Paul Gibson guitar, has for years (?), but never has Neil taken to the stage with his ax.

Oh what a first time.

Tonight, Neil will join Charlie Daniels at the Ryman on Charlie’s hit, South’s Gonna Do It Again.

Turns out Neil and Charlie were golf buddies at a charity tourney, and Neil revealed he plays guitar. So Charlie invited Neil to join him on stage sometime. And he meant it.

Neil is, in a word, NERVOUS!!

How nervous?

“I really wanted to spend the day working on the song,” Neil told me, “but I find it difficult to play while leaning on the toilet getting sick.”

The concert is Charlie’s annual Christmas for Kids show, to raise money for underprivileged kids to go Christmas shopping. The show is sold out, but, no pressure, Gretchen Wilson and Chris Young are among the artists opening for Neil.
