Seen in the City: Keith, Nicole spotted at Starbuck’s

People.com reports that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were getting in some parent practice at a Franklin Starbucks.

The site says Nicole arrived through a back entrance, met Keith inside and the two started chatting it up with a little boy at the table next to them.

“Nicole was very friendly but Keith seemed ga-ga!” a mysterious unnamed “observer” tells the site.

The fun included peekaboo, waving and chatting with the tot.

No word if the small fry was hopped up on caffeine.

Seen in the City: Olsens take a downtown smoke break

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have been spotted in town, and word is that they were headed to Bonnaroo. I’m not sure if they made it there or not.

But secret photographer Chad spotted the twins Friday puffin’ some butts outside the downtown Hermitage Hotel. Say, are those Daisy Dukes shorts?

Who knew that Mary-Kate Olsen’s “Boho-chic” look came with an actual interest in Boho culture?

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were both spotted together outside a West End Avenue/Vandy area hotel Thursday night.

They apparently had quite the posse of bodyguards and various handlers.

And the Olsen twins were NOT interested in hanging out with a couple of autograph seekers who approached around 10 p.m.

But they apparently were interested in some sort of Bonnaroo fashion: The twins were wearing what one witness described as what “looked like a homemade quilt made into clothes.”

Miley lays low backstage during Dad’s CMA fest show

‘Twas all the buzz of the final night of CMA Music Festival.

Billy Ray Cyrus was playing the LP Field show, and his daughter Miley Cyrus is in town shooting the Hannah Montana movie, so — Naturally, Miley would join her dad on stage during his set Sunday night, right?

So Billy Ray is on stage and he tells the crowd he wrote Ready, Set, Don’t Go for Miley and he was about to sing it when Billy Ray introduces his daughter… Brandi? Indeed, step-daughter Brandi came out to play guitar.

So Miley never came out. I’m told several backstage types saw Miley there, and her CMA credential was indeed picked up.

In fact, a few CMA staffers thought Miley was going to go on stage. Alas, she never did, which some fans found disappointing.

No word on why Miley never made it to the stage.

Keith Urban finds out what a baby ‘onesie’ is

You know, a onesie, those one-piece baby outfits that are sort of like jump suits, right?

As you know by now, Keith Urban was the big show-closing surprise guest Friday night at the CMA Music Festival’s LP Field bash. And Keith was kind enough to chat with reporters beforehand, with the hot topic: The baby he and Nicole Kidman are expecting in the fall.

One reporter shouted out: “Australian baby or Nashville baby?” Keith’s reply was a deflection that drew laughs. “Ha! I’m sorry, what was that question up there?” he said, pointing far away from the baby questioner.

Keith later allowed that he and Nicole have been getting lots of baby gifts, though he couldn’t quite come up with the word “onesie.”

After reporters did, Keith laughed, saying, “Onesie? Ha ha. I didn’t even know that.”

Keith said his favorite onesie so far is a black Johnny Cash tribute that reads, “I crawl the line.”

Things got a little more serious when Keith was asked what he might most be looking forward to.

“The unknown. I think for me, ya know. Just what is gonna come with that,” he said.

“And the love that’s gonna come with that. You know I’m just looking forward to that. Very much.”

It’s a Disney thang: Rascal Flatts in ‘Hannah Montana’

Reigning ACM, CMA and AMA Vocal Group of the Year winners Rascal Flatts have been confirmed to appear and perform in the upcoming Hannah Montana movie.

Hannah Montana: The Movie, starring Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus, is currently filming in the pair’s homestate of Tennessee. The film is scheduled for release in theaters in 2009.

Lyric Street Records is a part of the Disney Music Group. The Disney Music Group is the recorded music and music publishing arm of the Walt Disney Studios.

Seen in the City: Nicole sees ‘Sex in the City’

Here is one of our odder spottings.

Ember, of Mount Juliet, says she was at the Regal Green Hills Cinemas Saturday night for an opening weekend screening of Sex and the City.

And while Ember was washing her hands in the women’s restroom, “I look over and I see — huh! — Nicole Kidman!”

“She was so pretty in person and she’s so tall. She did NOT look pregnant. But I didn’t want to stare,” Ember said.

Ember heard her say “thank you,” and heard the Aussie accent and knew it was she.

“Everybody was tripping when she walked out ’cause it was crowded, crowded, crowded. I saw people getting on the phone and circles of girls pointed, and said, ’It’s Nicole Kidman! It’s Nicole Kidman!’

By the way, no Keith Urban. Nicole was with one of her girlfriends.  

Seen in the City: Jessica clutches a puppy and a Louis

You’ve just started hearing her first ever country single, Come On Over, on the radio.

Now you’re seeing her all over town.

Jessica Simpson was spotted Wednesday night at new Latin fusion restaurant/bar Lime, on Broadway. She was with a nice sized posse.

The posse member getting the most attention: The lap dog she had stowed in a Louis Vuitton pet tote. (Sniff sniff!) Jess was in jean, hair down, looking cool and casual.

Some dudes tried the ol’ “Oh isn’t your dog cute?” approach to talk to Jessica, and she chatted with them, for a little while, anyway. J. Simp left around 11 p.m.

On Tuesday night, Jessica and five or so other folks shared some appetizers at equally trendy Radius 10 in the Gulch.

I hope I run into her when I’m at Cracker Barrel. Yummy!

Fans gets to meet ‘Hannah Montana’ stars

So 5-year-old Julianna Ruth Mills of Brentwood went shopping yesterday, and she ended up with pictures of Hollywood stars.

For free!

Julianna’s parents were nice enough to send along these two pics.

The one is with Jason Earles.

As you Hannah Montana fans know, Jason plays Miley’s brother, Jackson, on the TV show.

And he apparently will play the same role in the movie.

 

Another picture is with Vanessa Williams.

You News 2 viewers know her as the conniving Wilhelmina Slater on ABC’s Ugly Betty.

Vanessa has been in town for a week or two.

She apparently is playing the role of Hannah Montana’s pushy publicist.

A scene done yesterday in the shoes department of Belk in Cool Springs Galleria.

Vanessa stood by while Hannah Montana and Tyra Banks fought over a pair of shoes.

 

And last but not least, here’s a shot of four year old Mufreesboro resident Olivia Oropesa with Miley.

Lucky.

Olivia is a huge Hannah Montana fan who happened to be in Columbia and convinced her mom, Tania, to hang out just long enough to get her Hannah Montana purse autographed.

She also lucked out and got this nice picture from inside the Maury County Courthouse where filming took place late last week.

If you see more paparazzi in town, it could be Miley…

There’s a bounty on Miley Cyrus‘ lips, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The newspaper reports that mags will pay from $30,000 to $150,000 for a pic of Miley’s first public kiss.

Zoinks! That’s up to $75,000 a lip.

But I digress.

That’s why, the newspaper says, packs of shooters have been camped outside her North Hollywood home, her fave shops in Malibu, her church, and yes, even here in Nashville.

No comment on the bounty from her peeps.
