Snoop Dogg puts out first country music video, fa shizzle
And if you haven’t seen it, check it out right here.
Snoop Dogg’s song: My Medicine, a reference to marijuana, and, shocker, the video features Willie Nelson.
OK, that’s not so surprising. But what if I told you squeaky clean Brad Paisley and even squeakier/cleaner Julianne Hough (Dancing with the Stars pro-turned-country singer) is in the video as well.
It’s pretty weird to see them, not to mention Snoop in a cowboy hat, not to mention Snoop on the Opry stage, Snoop on Lower Broadway, Snoop all over Nashville. The music video opens with Snoop declaring, “I’d like to dedicate this to Johnny Cash, a real American gangster.”
By the way — and please watch the video and share your thoughts/feelings — it seems like Snoop took this on seriously and not as any sort of country music spoof. Of course, if anything, that makes it even odder.
Of course, we can’t be too surprised. Snoop did show up this year at the CMT Music Awards (pictured here) and he told reporters backstage: “Ah man, I love country music.”
Still….
