Additional Information

ABOUT REGIE HAMM: Raised the son of a traveling preacher and musician, Regie Hamm spent his youth forging a musical identity in the fires of Pentecostal churches, tent revivals and all-night-singings. After moving back to Nashville (his birthplace), he quickly became a much sought-after songwriter and producer. Artistry, however, is his first love and true passion. His critically acclaimed debut solo album, American Dreams (Universal South/Refugee), yielded the Billboard top 15 AC hit Babies. As a songwriter, Regie has enjoyed more than 400 cuts -- over 20 of them number one hits -- and he was honored as the "SESAC Songwriter of the Year" in 1995, 1996, 1997 and 2000. He has multiple Grammy® and Dove Award nominations as both a producer and writer.

A personal note from Regie Hamm…

Dear Friends,

It was almost a year ago when I sent you all the unfortunate news of my daughter Isabella's "Angelman Syndrome" diagnosis. The past 10 months, however, have been incredibly eventful and positive. Yolanda and I went to work immediately finding people in the area with Angelman children. We have been blessed to come in contact with some wonderful families who battle this syndrome with their children daily and work tirelessly to make the situation better. We've all been learning from each other and helping one another. The Angelman community is truly unique and we're focused on making our kid's lives better, advancing them as far as possible and yes, even finding a cure.

On Saturday, May 17th, the National Angelman Walk will be held. Folks from all over the country will be walking to raise money for the Angelman Syndrome Foundation. The foundation provides valuable information and resources to Angelman families and also funds certain research. I've spoken with ASF Director Eileen Braun on the phone several times and I know she is acutely aware of the challenges we all face. She has an Angelman daughter too.

On the night of the 17th we'll be holding the first annual "Bella Bash" (named in honor of my Bella) at 3rd and Lindsley (9:00 pm). Mila Mason, Mike Reid, Luke Brown, myself and others will be performing. All proceeds will go to the ASF student chapter to help with travel, data collection and research. We're hoping to make this an annual thing and hoping it will be something the music community can really get behind. The first show was supposed to be March 7th but we got snowed out. That show sold out in 15 minutes. We're hoping to sell this one out as well. If you can make it out, we'd love to see you there and welcome you in to the Angelman community. It's definitely a RIDE! Thanks for sitting through my lengthy email and I hope you can all participate - it's truly a great cause.

Sincerely,

Regie
